Relatable vs Extraordinary

There are so many fish in the sea and yet some are able to grab attention better than others without effort. In a world that has become attached to our phones, we all crave connection. We have endless possibilities and yet not enough connections. Having too many options often stunts people in making a decision. If there are a hundred flavors of ice-creams why get attached to one when another could be better tasting? Some people just stick to the 3 flavors they know and call it a day. How did those 3 flavors become your default? Is it smart or ignorant to limit yourself? A lot of people do a little here, a little there, to where they are fragmented in their reality and do not connect to anyone or anything at all.

Talent is admirable. However, how good is talent if you cannot connect to the people you desire to be around? In a world of instant gratification our sense of rewards gets simplified. Are our wants a distraction and our needs an only means of satisfaction? Why has feeling good triumphed being good?

Attention is valuable because it promotes or demotes all things mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and can even affect your currency and your ability to do things that can fulfill your soul. Without visibility, one cannot have an impact, influence, or innovation. If the goal of cultivating talent is to garner attention, then one is better of showcasing how relatable they are then how good they are at something. Relatability is a better means of currency than talent. In a dystopian world where a connection is starved and yet seemingly fed... a sense of normalcy is highly desired. Being what one calls a "real human being" is a rarity.

We should all beware of where we put our attention. The enemy is constantly trying to distract us to base our worth on how the outside world receives us. Talent is inspiring, and if it is served well it should be nourishing. It should be refreshing and energize you as vitamins do in life. When you don't have the ability to tangibility connect to due to brokenness of your basic human needs, your wants seem unreasonable. You not only need to get your nutrients you have to be able to process them. You can only adequately go after what you want after your needs are met.

Is talent a waste? Not if it is purposeful. Talent has a lot to do with our authenticity. It is a part of our calling to be authentic, and but in a world where people feel too cold, being lukewarm seems to be in fashion. After a while one will have to identify as hot or cold if they do not want to live a mediocre life. Should the currency of attention be the goal? Fulfilling your soul should be the goal because no amount of currency can triumph that need, and that is something we can all relate to.
